Suggestions for Reporters: January 3, 2025

There has been much coverage by the media of Elon Musk’s so-called “government efficiency department.” In reality, it is a proposed federal advisory committee, not a department.

The press dutifully notes the areas where Musk wants to cut, but they ignore the areas Musk doesn’t want to mention that are huge sources of government fraud, waste and inefficiency.

Area 1: Corporate crime on the government, such as the $60 billion annual fraud on Medicare.

Area 2: Hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in corporate welfare, subsidies, handouts, giveaways, and bailouts.

Area 3: Musk’s own gigantic inflated contracts with NASA and other government agencies.

Finally, how much does Musk pay in taxes or not pay due to all kinds of loopholes? He’ll have to disclose his contracts of interest under federal law to chair the federal advisory committee.

Go media, go!
